Wow. We've been planning for this trip for a while now, and finally it is about to begin.
Dave, Emily, Chris, and myself are about to take a two-car journey from Lubbock, TX to the state of New York.
The plan is to visit various friends and family members, and clean out Dave's old NY apartment.
First, we will stop in New Jersey to visit our dear friend Mark.
Then, to Long Island to see my friends and family.
Next is West Winfield to see Chris' family. (Yay for having awesome inlaws!)
And then Colden where Dave's parents live.
Last is a short stop in our old college town of Fredonia.
This will all take just over a week.
Preperation and packing has been a veritable nightmare. Being the only stay-at-home person in the motley crew, I took on the organizational parts of the trip.
I can still hear myself - "Where is your list of snacks?" "Did you remember to pack towels?" "Don't forget to calculate gas costs!" (Which I wound up doing anyway.) :P I'm such a nag.
But everyone pulled together, and it looks like it'll be a good trip.
We would have left yesterday, but our dear friend Ericka is getting married TODAY, and I am a bridesmaid, and Chris is walking the sweet girl down the aisle. So we're swinging out after the reception, for an all-night drive.
It'll take about 28 hours to reach Jersey, hopefully I'll be able to snag some wireless on the way to gripe - I mean, speak with joyous fervor - about our epic adventure.
Men will write ballads and novel-length limericks about this one.
